Your support will change lives.

Every donation matters!

Making a donation, raising funds or volunteering makes an enormous difference to PSDS and the families accessing our essential services.

We are fully self-funded, with an annual fundraising target of £200,000. Help us reach our goal!

Fundraising events

We organise our own events – including quizzes, wine-tastings, coffee mornings, golf days, auctions and raffles. You can get involved by taking part, donating prizes or sponsoring one of our events. Why not join our Events and Fundraising team of volunteers or organise an event of your own? We’d love to hear your ideas and we’d love to be your charity partner if your workplace or club is looking for a good cause to support. Please contact Helen to find out the difference your support will make.

Coming up next…

PSDS Afternoon Tea – 3-5pm Saturday 19th September

Our annual Afternoon Tea is such a great opportunity to connect with friends old and new from PSDS and our wonderful supporters. Booking details will be emailed to PSDS members very soon, but pop the date in your diary to make sure you don’t miss it. Exciting news – this year’s Afternoon Tea will take place at The Plough Inn, a gorgeous country pub in Leigh, Surrey – just a few minutes from Reigate. We are grateful to Sarah and her team at The Plough for offering to host us and we can’t wait to enjoy their delicious sweet and savoury treats! A great way to mark the start of a new term of PSDS services and the return, or start, of school or college for our wonderful children and young people.

Paint and Cake – 2.30-5.30pm Saturday 3rd October

Following the success of their first Paint and Cake collaboration earlier this year, PSDS members Penny and Jo are joining forces again to bring a second fun, fabulously creative – and delicious – workshop back to 42a. Guests will be guided by Penny step-by-step to create a lovely work of art and Jo’s amazing array of home-made bakes will keep everyone’s energy levels up through the afternoon. We expect this event to sell out very quickly, so please book promptly once the link is available!

Christmas Wreath Workshops – 4th & 5th December

This year we are planning not one, but two Christmas wreath making workshops as we had such a great response last year! PSDS supporter Debbie will be on hand with gentle guidance to help guests create their own decorative wreath using foraged foliage and natural materials. You can bring your own embellishments to add a personal touch and there will be festive treats and a glass of fizz to enjoy too. Details to be available soon with options to book an evening workshop on Friday 4th December or an afternoon one the next day.

We’ll be adding more events soon. Please get in touch if you have fundraising plans of your own and don’t forget you can hire 42a Prices Lane, including our fabulous new garden space, for meetings, parties or special events.

Run – or get muddy – for us!

Join TeamPSDS for RunReigate on Sunday 20th September. Runners of all ages, abilities and distances are welcome, there are races for children too – the focus is on having fun and being part of a team! Contact Helen to find out more about taking part in RunReigate or other TeamPSDS events.

Fancy putting your best foot forward further afield?

We have teamed up with Run for Charity who provide places at hundreds of running events (and tough mudders!) across the country. You can sign up at a reduced rate if you support PSDS, we just ask that you run on our behalf to raise funds and awareness for us.

Check out the Run for Charity website or our own section within it.

Down Syndrome Awareness Week

World Down Syndrome Day is celebrated globally on the 21st March each year, reflecting the third copy of the 21st chromosome. We invite our members and supporters to wear mismatched socks on or around this date to celebrate that every single one of us is a unique individual, no two people are the same regardless of the number of chromosomes they have!

During Down Syndrome Awareness Week charities like ours organise events and campaigns to raise awareness as well as raising essential funds. Please let us know if you’d like to get involved in rocking your socks or supporting PSDS during Down Syndrome Awareness Week! Next year, we will be celebrating our 21st year of providing exceptional support for children and young people with Down syndrome and their families – we’d love to make Awareness Week 2027 an extra-special one and with your help we can!
