Wonder Walk

A trip to the coast is quite typical for many families on a Bank Holiday weekend. But getting there on foot by walking 100km from London to Brighton isn’t usually the norm! PSDS member Craig M took part in the London 2 Brighton Ultra Challenge to raise funds as a thank you for the support his son Jonas and family has received. Jonas attends one of our weekly Digbies pre-school groups where the input from the PSDS therapy team has been such a great benefit. Speaking about his decision to take on this epic challenge, Craig said: “PSDS has played a meaningful role in our lives. We have seen first-hand the warmth, encouragement and expert help the charity offers. The support we’ve had from PSDS has made a world of difference to our family and I was determined to give something back.”

Craig’s tremendous trek took 25 hours and 7 minutes. He battled blisters and sweltering temperatures of almost 30 degrees, but he kept going and has raised over £1,900 so far. “It was a bit of an ordeal,” comments Craig, “but ultimately I think it’s proven that anything is possible when you’ve got a cause to keep you going.” We share the same “anything is possible” sentiment here at PSDS with our “No labels, no limits” mantra.

Well done Craig – what an achievement and an inspiration. We are so grateful for your determination and the generosity of all who have donated in support of your challenge. Now, put your feet up for a bit of a rest…
