Picture Perfect Fundraising

The PSDS HQ was a hive of creativity last weekend as we hosted our first Paint & Cake event. It was a full house and a great afternoon was had by all who attended. We are so grateful to Penny who expertly led the paint-along, guiding the 27 workshop attendees through each stage of creating a beautiful Spring woodland scene. Her sister Sarah was on hand to help too, topping up paint palettes, cleaning brushes and making sure everyone had all the materials they needed during the session. A break halfway through gave everyone the opportunity to sample the delicious home-made cakes and brownies Jo baked specially for the event and Jo kept the tea, coffee and fizz flowing all afternoon too! Katherine very kindly brought along a hamper to raffle off and a group photo at the end proudly demonstrated everyone’s artistry. It really was a picture perfect afternoon of friendship, creativity, fun and cake. And the icing on the cake was the amount raised – a grand total of £1,043 to help fund the exceptional services and support we provide for babies, toddlers, children, teens and young adults with Down syndrome and their families. Huge thanks to all who took part in the Paint & Cake afternoon and to the wonderful team who put together such a fabulous event.
