Outstanding Support Fore PSDS
In spite of the ominous sounding date, Friday 13th June definitely wasn’t an unlucky day for PSDS! In fact it was extremely lucky, as our second annual Golf Day – hosted once again by our friends at Reigate Heath Golf Club – was an outstanding success! A total of 47 golfers took to the fairway for a team competition, plus Nearest The Pin and Longest Drive challenges. Congratulations to our team winners, Gary Chandler, Mike Pinnegar, Dan Tully and Steve Dunstan; and to James Christian (Nearest The Pin) and Paul Rose (Longest Drive). Back at the clubhouse, it was time to cool off with some refreshments before enjoying a delicious BBQ, courtesy of On The Hoof, followed by our auction, raffle and prize giving.
We are so grateful to our bidders who made incredibly exciting and generous bids for each of our three lots – the Wisley golf prize, the RAC golf prize and the Bisley Clay Shooting experience. With the support of our golfers, auction bidders and guests who joined us for the evening’s entertainment and raffle, a fabulous total of just under £7,000 was raised for PSDS, a truly fantastic result.
We are also very grateful to PSDS member, Natty Bee, who sang for us again this year and to all the individuals and local businesses who kindly donated prizes, including: Basil’s Wine Bar, Canakin, Handley’s Cafe, Heartwood Inns, The Bed Post, Jam Golf, Neptune Tonbridge, Julian Smith, Ben Burford and Bisley Shooting Ground.
Special thanks to PSDS members James – for organising the golf day – Rachael and Jo – for their support with the raffle, and Danielle for admin support. A great team effort and a great result, raising much-needed funds to support PSDS services and activities which benefit so many children, young people and their families. Thank you everyone!
