Mud Larks
PSDS member Thea, her sister Rowan and 11 team-mates (aka The Dirty Dozen!) took part in the Colour Challenge NUTS assault course recently. Based in beautiful countryside near Henfold Lake in Surrey, the course started with plenty of powder paint, followed by 5km of “up, down, under, over, in and out” obstacles, log and tyre carrying challenges and masses of mud! Thea and her pals did brilliantly – it was a hot day and it took real team-work to get round the course. Everyone was happy to give Thea a boost with words of encouragement, a team chant and a helping hand wherever needed.
Proud parents, Andrew and Helen, were so impressed by Thea’s determination to complete the course, thanks to all the fabulous support she received from Rowan and their friends. The promise of a post-challenge BBQ certainly helped to motivate the team too – almost as much as the idea of a shower, although it definitely took more than one soaking to get all the mud off.
The magnificent mudlarks have raised just under £2,000 for PSDS and would love to smash their target. You can read more about their inspiration and make a donation here. Well done Thea and the Dirty Dozen and huge thanks to all your generous sponsors and supporters!
Who’s up for the challenge next year….?!!!
