Speech Therapy and Developmental Activities for Members
Children over 18 months
Children over the age of 18 months will be eligible to attend digbies (developing individual growth by imaginative play, education and speech), subject to a place being available.
Digbies is our early development group, which takes place at Lloyd Hall, Outwood on Friday’s during term time.
Subject to the availability of a qualified therapist, psds will endeavor to offer speech therapy during digbies to all those children who have been offered and accepted a place. Prior to attending the first session, the individual family will be required to fund a private speech therapy session with our therapist in order that an assessment can take place.
The Committee in consultation with the professionals involved shall set capacity for digbies. Once capacity has been reached, psds will operate a waiting list. The groups will be reviewed at the end of each academic term and any new places that may be become available will be offered after this time.
Children under 18 months
Children who are under the age of 18 months and not able to attend digbies will be offered monthly speech therapy either individually or in a group provided always a speech therapist is available. Prior to attending the first session, the individual family will be required to fund a private speech therapy session with our therapist in order that an assessment can take place.
The children will be offered a place at digbies when they reach 18 months and if no place is available will be placed on a waiting list.
Payment for speech therapy and developmental activities
psds will attempt to fund this service in total. However, this will be constantly under review by the committee and we reserve the right to make a charge.
